Reiki Classes

Overview

Reiki is a profound practice that can bring vast benefits to self and others. At the same, it is an essentially simple practice that anyone can learn. Reiki I Shoden class is the foundation course that is the most important of all levels of training. It's open to anyone, regardless of experience. Seasoned body workers will benefit, as much as beginners with no background in spiritual development or holistic health.

Shoden Reiki I (First Teachings)

In Reiki Level I, students are led through a step-by-step discovery of the practice and system of Reiki, beginning with the concept that we are all capable of moving towards a state of balance and wellness. This class sets the foundation of the system of Reiki practice in place that will be used through the other classes. Primarily facilitated through informational lecture, energetic practices, stillness and meditations, we practice to become aware of and experience the energy helping create this healing space for ourselves and others.

Okuden Reiki II (Inner Teachings)

Level II training builds on the Level I foundation. A continued journey deeper into the teachings of Mikao Usui's system of healing by adding the use of shirushi (symbols) and jumon (mantras). This class also supports students who are interested in becoming a professional Reiki practitioner.

Shinpiden Reiki III (Mystery Teachings)

This is the final level of the system of Reiki, but it marks the beginning of a lifeā€“long path that will richly reward you should you continue to bring its teachings into your daily life. The emphasis of the Shinpiden class is personal development, of teaching you the final elements of the system of Reiki, and in laying the foundations from which to build should you decide that you wish to pursue the role of a teacher of the traditional Japanese system of Reiki.

The Life Balance Reiki Teaching Method

Usui Reiki Ryoho translates as Usui Spiritual Energy Healing Method and the Usui Reiki Ryoho lineage aims to reflect the practices that were taught by Usui Mikao during his lifetime. It is the original Japanese branch of Reiki that focuses on the spiritual teachings of Usui and offers training in a non-Western format.

Today there are hundreds of different branches of Reiki and most of these branches have evolved within the last 20 years in the West. Students of these systems have altered their teachings to accommodate their other beliefs and practices, many of which belong to the New Age Movement such as the chakra system.

The difference between the Usui Reiki Ryoho and Western courses is that the initiation process, course information and techniques originated directly from Japan rather than via the West. The teachings also have a different focus than Western forms; the Japanese focus is on personal development and spirituality.

Traditionally, there are 3 levels of study, Shoden, Okuden and Shinpiden, within the system of Reiki.
